I cannot count on three years at Man Utd - Ruben Amorim
Ruben Amorim - seen receiving consolation after May's continental cup disappointment - states he is happy by the investor's long-term backing but underscored that the future is unpredictable in soccer.
The Red Devils' boss Amorim feels it's significant the co-owner publicly shared his future vision - but says nothing is certain about tomorrow in football, never mind three seasons.
In an interview with a major publication in recent days, Ratcliffe said it could take Amorim three seasons to make a significant impact at the Theatre of Dreams.
Emerging in an era when the coach's tenure has been facing examination following an extended sequence of unsatisfactory outcomes, the comments helped quell certain present tensions.
However, talking ahead of the 100th meeting with traditional foes the Reds at their home ground, Amorim underscored that the future is hard to predict in soccer.
"It's truly positive to receive that message but he informs me continuously, periodically with words post fixtures - but understand, I realize and the co-owner recognizes, that soccer doesn't work that way," he commented.
"The crucial element is the next game. Regardless of investors, you cannot manage tomorrow in soccer."
Top executive the club executive has conceded it has required far longer for the manager to acclimate to the Premier League after his transfer from Sporting Lisbon last November than anyone imagined.
The Red Devils have secured 10 times in 34 Premier League matches under the 40-year-old. They haven't managed two league games in a row and have not ended a round of league games this season higher than ninth.
The concerning numbers are challenging confidence in the head coach among the Old Trafford faithful entering a stretch of fixtures the side has performed poorly in for the past two seasons.
United's boss commented he does not feel the doubt within the organization at their training facility and is insistent nothing compares to the pressure he applies to his players - and in some senses, he would choose Ratcliffe to avoid attempting to create tranquility because he worries the influence it may create on the players.
"It's not only an item of conversation, I feel it each day," he stated. "It's certainly beneficial to receive it because it helps our fans to comprehend the administration know it is going to take a while.
"Yet concurrently, I dislike it because it gives a feeling that we have time to resolve issues. I don't desire that feeling in our club.
"The expectation I apply to the squad or upon myself is significantly greater [versus outside influences]. In the sport, particularly at major teams, you must demonstrate your worth each weekend."
