Discover 29 Fresh Cards from Magic's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Expansion (Featuring a Commander Precon Deck!)

Everyone's favorite pizza-loving superheroes are arriving to Magic: The Gathering. The popular trading card game's company, Wizards of the Coast, unveiled a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion at a exclusive panel hosted at New York Comic Con. Could this be a radical new set or yet another crossover marketing move? Let you be the judge.

Check out here at all the details revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, including some useful context. All items listed here releases on March 6, 2026, with one exception — a special Pizza Bundle arrives a couple of weeks after on March 27th.

Magic x TMNT: Main Set Cards

Before we get into all the various special decks and collections available, let’s take a look at the full lineup from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion unveiled by Wizards. Standard booster packs for the expansion are set at $6.99 per pack, while premium boosters should run $37.99 per pack.

Let's unpack a few shell-shocking details. To begin, there's a new mechanic called Sneak Attack, inspired by the pre-existing Ninjutsu, in which players can play powerful creatures into the game field when an attacking creature goes unblocked. The big difference here is that this new ability can apply to spells that aren’t creatures as well. The designers also took the opportunity to clean up the ability a bit (Sneak counts as casting, as opposed to the older mechanic). Ninjutsu is staying, but chances are we'll see Sneak in future sets from now on.

Should we go back to Kamigawa, we might use Ninjutsu because that plane is it originated and it’s a hallmark to that,” a senior designer stated. “However in other settings, since the rules are cleaner and Sneak will be in standard, it’s probable that we'd use the updated version.”

That second variant of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai card, is one of four special cards with unique artwork created exclusively for the set by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator the co-creator.

Additionally, should you be surprised by the rules text on Turtles Forever, which allows playing cards that aren't in your deck, so was I. But according to the developers, it’s now a legal card in all formats of Magic.

Anyway, here are the highly unusual full-art lands from this set:

Following Wizards of the Coast's current policy, these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard format. The designers state they were careful to ensure the new cards and mechanics worked smoothly with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.

“I headed the design for over a year and we knew it would be Standard-legal and which sets were going to be near it in Standard,” a lead designer commented. “We designed to ensure that they work well with some of those sets like Edge of Eternities.”

For example, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a blue-red archetype focused on artifacts.

“They combine to provide the components for a fun Standard deck,” he added.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power

Following a decision to design any Commander precons for the Spider-Man set and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, Wizards is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only a single precon, but it does come with six distinct legendary cards who could work as your commander based on how you pair them (five of the cards include a unique partner ability called “Character Select” that lets you start with two of them in the command area instead of only one). Take a look below:

This Commander precon is set at $69.99, though the price may rise due to demand. Wizards told that it includes 43 new cards in total, which means an extra thirty-seven TMNT-themed cards in addition to the six legendary commanders pictured above. (Doing some rough math, this suggests about 20 reprints if we estimate the deck comes with 37 land cards.)

How will the TMNT edition of Sol Ring appear? We’ll just have to wait and find out.

TMNT Bundle (Regular)

Typically, the company is selling a collection. This one costs $69.99 and contains the following:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • Fifteen Traditional foil basic lands
  • Fifteen Non-foil land cards
  • Two Reference cards
  • 1 Foil promotional card
  • One Large spindown life counter
  • 1 storage box

Pizza Bundle

This is a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, mostly in that it comes in what looks like a pizza box. Every pizza-themed bundle costs $99.99 and comes with the following:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • 1 Premium Booster
  • 25 Non-foil pizza-themed lands
  • 5 Foil pizza basic lands
  • 2 Foil Pizza Bundle promo cards
  • 2 Reference cards
  • One Large life tracker
  • 1 storage box

For those curious what a “pizza bundle promo” means, it’s essentially a reprinted older card featuring brand-new TMNT artwork. The team showed one for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual depicting master Splinter adding black licorice pieces onto a pizza. In total, there are six distinct pizza promos available.

The Pizza Bundle releases a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Night

This special bundle is designed for a four-person draft and is priced at $119.99. It includes:

  • Twelve Standard Boosters (ideal for four people to play draft)
  • 1 Premium Booster (aka, the reward for coming in first)
  • 90 Non-foil land cards (for building your deck)
  • 10 Regular token cards
  • 1 drafting guide (a one-sheet guide to drafting the set)

Turtle Team-Up

Finally, Wizards are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its continued initiative to develop Magic products specifically for new players. In this case, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of prebuilt decks that allow two players team up to face a “Boss” deck that pilots itself.

The general idea here that each Boss card grants unique powers to the creature cards contained in the boss deck. Each Boss automatically casts an additional card each turn, and players begin fighting {one Boss|
